Brief introduction of myself

Hi, I am Paul Barrère, a fluid dynamics enthousiast and an astrophysics passionate. Since October 2024, I started a postdoctoral postion at the Observatory of Geneva (Switzerland), where I mostly work on the impact of magnetic instabilities and dynamo action in stellar interiors. During my PhD (2021-2024) at the Department of Astrophysics of CEA (Saclay, France), I studied a new formation scenario for magnetars --- highly magnetised neutron stars --- in which a proto-neutron star is spun-up by fallback and the magnetic field amplified by the Tayler-Spruit dynamo. I investigated this problem through a semi-analitycal model and 3D magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) numerical simulations.
